It really is never too early to start learning about financial responsibility. At Kern Schools we offer two different youth banking options, including our Rocky Raccoon and Kappa Accounts, which are designed to help children make good financial decisions early in life.

Rocky Raccoon Account

For children from birth to ten years old, a Rocky Raccoon Account introduces the concept of saving and provides incentives for doing so. Each time your child makes a deposit he or she can select a prize from Rocky’s toy chest or receive a Rocky token, which can be saved to redeem for a Rocky Raccoon stuffed animal.

  • Dividends compounded and paid quarterly.
  • Free online account access and eStatements through DataNet Online Banking.
  • Minimum opening balance of $5.00.

Kappa Account

For kids and teens ages eleven through seventeen, a Kappa Account allows our young Members to enjoy all the benefits of belonging to Kern Schools with a free checking account* and debit card (with parent or guardian co-signature).

  • Minimum opening deposit of $5.00.
